Palm Jumeirah Guide
Palm Jumeirah, a master development by Nakheel, stands as a symbol of Dubai's dynamic growth and ambition. Extending five kilometers into the Arabian Gulf, this iconic island is shaped like a date palm tree and is one of the world's largest man-made islands, a remarkable engineering achievement covering 560 hectares of land. Home to approximately 25,000 residents, Palm Jumeirah boasts luxury residences, waterfront homes, retail destinations, leisure attractions, and world-class marinas, making it a premier destination in Dubai.
Community Features
Palm Jumeirah is an artificial archipelago located in the Persian Gulf in Jumeirah, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It forms part of the larger Palm Islands development, which also includes Palm Jebel Ali and Dubai Islands. Upon completion, these developments will collectively extend Dubai's coastline by 520 kilometers (320 miles). As of 2022, Palm Jumeirah is home to over 25,000 residents. The islands, created through land reclamation, are designed to resemble a palm tree and are divided into three main areas: the "trunk," "fronds," and "outer crescent." The trunk serves as a mixed commercial and residential zone, the fronds are dedicated to residential homes and villas, and the outer crescent hosts luxury and upscale resorts. The construction of Palm Jumeirah was carried out by Van Oord, a Dutch specialist dredging company that also built The World Islands.
